U7s Nippy Little Ruckers Hong Kong Tour a Huge Success!

The Hong Kong U7s tour (HK U8 category) was a huge success for both the Leopards and Tigers - both squads played fantastic rugby, both unbeaten, each team with 2 wins, 1 draw, in an event that qualified as the worlds largest ever mini rugby event officiated by the Guinness book of records! The tournament was made complete with an afternoon trip to watch the final leg of the Australia vs. New Zealand Bledisloe Cup, an amazing experience for all!

First the Leopards - led by Matt & Jules, what can we say, just what a weekend! 2 Wins, 1 Draw at the Hong Kong Mini Tournament, then to the Sunday morning Discovery Bay friendly the Leopards put in a fantastic performance beating the TRC Tigers (although great challenge from the Tigers!), then drew with the hosting club the Pirates and then drew again with RSC!

Next the Tigers, led by Gary & Paul, hot on the heels of the Leopards, also securing 2 Wins and 1 Draw at the Hong Kong Mini Tournament - great result! Then to Discovery Bay on Sunday morning, the Tigers player their hearts out against all teams and while not taking a game they went very close to causing a number of upsets!! Watch out Leopards, here come the Tigers!

With so many tries it was hard to catch them all on camera! A couple of shots left & below of Lauren & Sam storming over the line for the Tigers!

Many thanks to every team member and parent that made the tour such a memorable event!

Many thanks to Carl Brown for providing these HSBC Mini Rugby Tournament team photos and for all those that have loaded photos to the blog.

A wet start to the official start of the season!

Welcome back! The official start to the new season got off to a wet and muddy start this morning but it didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the kids who all got off to a flying start!

The big event in the coming weeks will be the TRC tour to Hong Kong (see tour sidebar page for details) as discussed, this is the first time the U7s have done a tour to HK so only 1 team will be entered so we will have limited places. If you would like to join the tour please send Rick an email ASAP to register your interest, please do note that each U7 player will each need to be accompanied by at least 1 parent.

Great support and turnout this morning - look forward to seeing you all next week!
